Seasonal circle of life
It's that most wonderful time of the year and while you could be forgiven for thinking Christmas has become all too commercialised, this year the trend is all about tradition. Apart from the Christmas tree itself, perhaps the next most iconic symbol of the season is the Christmas wreath. We love it's symbolism: the circular shape represents eternity and the circle of life which is also the reason why evergreen materials are most often used (think holly, ivy, yew etc) as they represent growth and strength (being as tough as old boots).

Now, you could go out and buy a ready-made wreath but it's so much more fun to go foraging in the garden for some handy materials that could be woven together with some wire (and a bit of ingenuity!) and make your very own. The kids'll love it! Twigs, pine cones, berries and ivy (usually found everywhere you don't want it but comes into its own at this time of year!). Then liberally weave through some Christmas baubels for good measure and a touch of festive bling and there you go! Enjoy the quiet magic of your garden this winter...and don't forget to make some horticultural resolutions for 2020!
