Distance garden design
Lockdown has probably made those of us with a garden, however big or small, value it like never before. Perhaps you've been cooking more outdoors, giving a whole new meaning to the phrase 'eating out'. Or maybe you've simply been able to spend more time in it, either actively gardening or exercising, or just 'being'. We hope that, even after this abnormal and worrying time is safely behind us, the garden's importance as a place of sanctuary, recovery and well-being, will take on new significance.
If you've rediscovered your garden but feel it could be so much more, then we can help. We are still providing a full garden design service, albeit adapted to the 'new normal' of social distancing. Now's a perfect time to plan your garden: perhaps you have a problem area that needs reviving, or maybe a complete rethink is required to unleash its full potential. Using the latest technology (Whatsapp mini garden videos; digital mood boards, such as Pinterest and Houzz; video calls for discussing and sharing ideas) we can connect with you to agree a design brief that ticks all the right boxes and quote for the design work.
Once we've agreed the design brief, the first step on the design journey is a site assessment and topographical survey. Assuming we can access the garden without going through the house, ideally via a side access path, we can undertake this work safely. We may also be able to work with an existing survey if you have one or, if your plot is relatively small and simple, guide you as to how to draw up a survey plan of your garden yourself. Once we receive the survey, we can then work up a series of 2D and 3D visuals illustrating the key elements of your new garden in image form and sharing these with you via videocall.
An outline plan and set of specifications is then created, along with a planting plan to bring year-round interest and colour to your borders. Together these plans enable us to brief our trusted professional landscapers to quote for building your new garden. When it comes to the landscaping, the teams adhere strictly to distancing guidelines so we are able to safely carry out the work. So, if you'd like a fresh eye to help rethink, revive or renew your garden, we'd love to hear from you.
